Keep a wedding planner
diary and use it. |
If you really want a
particular venue and you don't want to wait 2 years to get married, think about
a weekday wedding, Venue's are generally cheaper and all your friends get an
extra day off! |
Set budgets early, but
be realistic, and be prepared to spend less/more on things that really matter
to you. |
Forget the formalities,
this is the 21st century, weddings are changing, you may believe in tradition,
you may want something more individual. |
Get wedding insurance
early on. |
For the perfect day, you
need to spend time with the Florist/photographer! hairdresser, etc etc. Don't
expect to do it all on a Saturday morning. If they are any good they're
probably be too busy to see you. Try and build a rapport with them, let them
get to know you so that they can give you what you want. |
Try and keep to a
general theme, don't book your venue in an old traditional country barn and
then try and make a tropical theme. |
For medium to larger
weddings, and especially if guests need to move from room to room etc, think
about a master of ceremonies. |
If you have the parents
from hell, try and start as you mean to continue. In our experience it is
probably better to discuss budgets and who is organising what! |
If you are on a tight
budget, ask your suppliers about cost saving packages. |
It is possible to book
various suppliers, without going into too much detail, it is advisable to book
early. |
Make major appearance
changes well in advance. |
Think short and
interesting on the speeches. |
Remember drivers, offer
non-alcoholic beverages too. |
