Name: | Natalie
Wells | |
| Profession: | Numismatist |
| What
I do: | Most
people know the famous Victorian dressing rhyme, "Something old, something
new, something borrowed, something blue" but many do not know about the last
line "And a silver sixpence in her shoe". We at The Silver Sixpence
Company are dedicated to making this part of the wedding tradition into something
really special and to give the bride a truly unique gift that she can remember
her special day by.
Given
that the last sixpence was minted in 1967 and the last 100% silver sixpence was
minted in 1921, it is unlikely that any of today's brides have ever seen a sixpence
and have no idea about the rich history that it has. The first sixpence was minted
in 1551, so we have over 450 years worth of history to choose from. It is my job
to find the perfect sixpence for your perfect day. There are a number of ways
I can find a sixpence special for you, either a name or a date or event. If we
don't have one in stock, I'll find the one you want.

I do: | A toastmaster
is a gentleman dressed in full evening dress and a red tailcoat. A good toastmaster

Name: | Helen
Peers | |
| Profession: | Wedding
Insurance Co-Ordinator | | What
I do: | Your wedding
day should be one of the most exciting days of your life. Whilst you are planning
it, the last thing that you may consider is something going wrong. It wouldn't
be just your memory of the big day being ruined - you could be seriously out of
pocket as well.
With the average wedding now costing in the region of
£14,000, for as little as £45, we can cover for events happening such as loss/damage
to wedding rings/presents, the reception venue going out of business or the photographer
cancelling at the last minute.

Name: | Lucy
Reston, Jiggery Pokery Designs
| Profession: | 3-Dimensional
Picture Designer | | What
I do: | Lucy works very
hard with the bride to ensure that her 3-dimensional pictures contain an accurate
record of the Wedding Day:- eg. A corsage holds the Bride's name, A Top Hat holds
the groom's name, a clock shows the time of the service, a diary shows the date.
A harp holds the name of the church or venue. The bridal colour scheme forms
the basis of the design and Lucy endeavours to create and incorporate any specially
requested items such as miniature replica invitations or orders of service, fabric,
photographs or meaningful memorabilia within the design. The result is a totally
unique piece of art, each one telling it's own Wedding day story that can be displayed
and re-lived for years.
